Dear Auburn Family,
On behalf of our players and coaches, I wanted to thank you for doing your part to make the 2010 A-Day game the best in school history.
The weather and the atmosphere could not have been better for an A-Day record crowd of 63,217. Your attendance at A-Day and your support all year long means a great deal to our players, our coaches and the recruits who were there.
We also want to thank the All-Decade Team of the 2000's for what they mean to Auburn and for taking the time to come home for a fantastic reunion. What happened at halftime of the A-Day game shows just how special the Auburn Family is to those who have been a part of it.
Of the 25 players named to the Team of the Decade, 22 came back to be recognized on the field where they won championships and always represented Auburn with class and character. Their attendance on Saturday says a lot about them as individuals - and even more about Auburn.
We also appreciate the thousands of fans who poured into Auburn Arena for a highly successful Sneak Peek event. Coach Tony Barbee and his newly hired staff of proven winners have hit the ground running and won't look back. I know Coach Barbee appreciates the warm welcome he has enjoyed from the start as well as the great reception he received at Saturday's game.
Auburn Arena is only a few weeks away from completion. As those of you who were able to visit saw on Saturday, the arena will be an incredible venue in which to enjoy men's and women's basketball as well as gymnastics.
If you were not able to pick up a brochure with pricing and seating information for all three sports that will compete at the arena, visit auburnarena.com (http://www.auburnarena.com). You can find a seat request form there. Please note that the form is for new ticket buyers only. Current basketball season ticket holders will receive ordering instructions from the Auburn Athletics Ticket Office.
If you want to make sure you get great seats for a new era of Auburn basketball but have never bought season tickets before, the best thing to do right now is to join Tigers Unlimited. As evidenced by 30,000 visitors enjoying the Sneak Peek on A-Day, interest is high in Auburn basketball and the new arena, so we urge you to go ahead and make your seat requests.
Thanks again to all of you who made A-Day a success. It is amazing to see how much A-Day has evolved over the years, and we want to continue to see it grow and improve with your feedback and your help. Providing a positive game-day experience is one of our five goals for the department, and you as fans play a vital role in helping us make it happen.
We appreciate your support and look forward to many great things to come.
God Bless and War Eagle!
Jay Jacobs Director of Athletics
