Dear Auburn Family,

Coach Tony Barbee said it best at his introductory press conference last week. "It is a great day to be an Auburn Tiger," Coach Barbee said.

Every day is a great day to be an Auburn Tiger, but it doesn't get much better than last Thursday, when Coach Barbee was introduced as Auburn's 20th men's basketball head coach.

It was a historic day as a new era of Auburn basketball began on the freshly painted floor of Auburn Arena. It didn't take those in attendance and those watching the press conference long to see what we saw in Coach Barbee. He is a class act, a fierce competitor and a visionary leader who will work tirelessly to bring in the talent we need to compete for championships and to promote the program to the community and the Auburn Family.

As Coach Barbee said, he and the team need your help. While the Auburn Arena will be the finest basketball facility in the conference and one of the best in the country, the building alone won't make it a great atmosphere. Your support, your presence and your patience will be crucial as Coach Barbee works to build a foundation for the future.

For those of you who have supported Auburn basketball in the past, we thank you. We hope you will once again purchase season tickets for the inaugural season in Auburn Arena.

For those of you who have never purchased season tickets before and would like to do so, we urge you to visit www.auburntigers.com/tickets and click on "Auburn Arena Seat Request." We have also launched a new website promoting the arena at www.auburnarena.com. The website includes seating configuration information and pricing for all three teams that will compete there, including men's and women's basketball and gymnastics.

We would like to invite all of you to get a "sneak peek" at Auburn Arena on A-Day Weekend, April 16-17. The doors of Auburn Arena will first open for Tigers Unlimited members from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM CT on Saturday, April 17. The arena will remain open for the general public from 11:00 AM-12:30 PM and after the A-Day game until 5:00 PM.

The 2010 A-Day Weekend will be a great time to visit campus. Festivities begin Friday, April 16, with the Boda Getta BBQ at Ag Heritage Park and the War Eagle Invitational at Hutsell-Rosen Track.

A new class of Tiger Trail honorees will be inducted at 8:30 AM Saturday in the ballroom of the new Student Center across the street from Jordan-Hare Stadium. The class includes Pat Duke, Jenifer Kleyn, Wesley Person, Bill Beckwith, MaeOla Bolton and Jason Campbell. The Tiger Trail induction, another great Auburn tradition, is open to the public. Tickets may be purchased by calling (334) 887-7011.

The second annual Punt, Pass & Kick Contest will be held from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM Saturday, April 17, at the football practice fields behind the Athletic Complex on Donahue Drive. Youth ages 8-13 are invited to participate in the event. The winners will be recognized on Pat Dye Field at halftime of the A-Day Game. Tiger Fan Fest will also be open at the practice fields from 9:30 AM-12:30 PM the day of the game.

The gates at Jordan-Hare Stadium will open at 11:00 AM for the A-Day Game, with kickoff to follow at 1:00 PM. A post-game autograph session with players and coaches will be held on the field after a brief cooling off period.

Another highlight of A-Day will be the recognition of Auburn Football's All-Decade Team for the 2000's (2000-2009). Fans are invited to vote for the All-Decade Team through April 3rd at www.auburntigers.com. You can also purchase your A-Day Game tickets online there as well. The results of the All-Decade Team vote will be announced prior to A-Day Weekend.

If you have not yet seen it, we would also like to invite you to visit a new website promoting Auburn Football and the Auburn way at www.auburnwareagle.com. Visiting the site is sure to get you ready for A-Day and the season ahead.

It truly is a great time to be an Auburn Tiger. Let's continue to pull together and support our student-athletes, starting with A-Day Weekend but continuing through the spring sports season.

We appreciate your support and hope to see you on campus.

God Bless and War Eagle!
