Ok I took a break from blogging yesterday because honestly I really didn't think anyone was reading. Then a few people reached out and told me they loved hearing all the little insights into the training of an Olympic athlete so close to the games, so thank you for that! It's inspired me to keep writing!
Today we had a fantastic practice to be honest. We looked at the video footage from a few nights ago where we put on racing suits and got off the blocks, and we figured out some minor adjustments to the technique that needed to happen. It all came together today, a coaches dream!
The issues were very small and very technical, things you can't really see unless you slow it down on computer and look for the smallest little things. The boys made the adjustments today in the water and everything just clicked! They looked amazing and on point. I can't guarantee times or places but I can guarantee they are ready to compete!
After practice the coaches decided to hit a local food truck for lunch. It was set up just a block from the hotel and it was delicious! Momma made some fried pastels with ham, cheese, and tomato. Yummy! And pappa squeezed out some homemade sugar cane juice with lemon added. I've attached some photos so you guys can taste the goodness through images!
We are having a very relaxing time in São Paulo and all the Brazilian swimmers are looking very good. Everybody seems to genuinely like each other, they are a very caring group of athletes. No drama! I can't wait to get to Rio now!
