Education: O'Neill received concurrent Bachelor of Science degrees in nutrition (dietetics) and exercise & wellness from Arizona State University in 2012. She completed her dietetic internship through ASU and received her credentials as a Registered Dietitian in 2014. In 2016, O'Neill graduated from Auburn University with a Master of Science degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise physiology.
Job Responsibilities: O'Neill is responsible for overseeing the sport nutrition needs of the baseball and soccer teams, as well as assisting the director of sports nutrition with football. As a Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics, she works with teams and individual athletes to improve their performance in the classroom and on the field through nutrition education, counseling, fueling for practice and game days, and nutrition for injury prevention and recovery. O'Neill manages procurement for the fueling stations, and helps to supervise and mentor the staff of graduate assistant and intern sport dietitians, and student volunteers. She also works closely with the Wellness Kitchen to provide guidance for culinary performance menus.
Past Experience: O'Neill started her career at Auburn in 2014, as a Gatorade Sports Nutrition Immersion Program (SNIP) Intern, before transitioning to a graduated assistant sports dietitian position in 2015. The field of sports dietetics continues to grow rapidly and in January of 2017, Stephanie was hired on staff as the first Assistant Sports Dietitian within the Sports Nutrition Department here at Auburn.
Personal: O'Neill is a native of Niles, Mich., and married her husband, Casey, in 2016. Outside of work, O'Neill enjoys cooking and experiencing new restaurants with Casey, spending time with her two dogs, and running.
