Academic Counselor, Learning Specialist
Dr. Kirsten Perkins joined the SASS staff in 2003 as SASS's first Learning Specialist. In 2005 she assumed academic counseling responsibilities, working with teams such as Men's Basketball and Baseball. Dr. Perkins received her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education in 1992 and her Master's degree in Special Education in 1993, both from Auburn University. In 2010 she completed her doctorate in Adult Education, also from Auburn University. Prior to joining the SASS staff, Kirsten taught at-risk and learning disabled students in public schools. She is a current member of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics.
