Luke begins his first year as a full time staff member with the Auburn University Sports Medicine Staff. His primary responsibilities lie in the prevention and treatment for the nationally-ranked Auburn University Track & Field team.

Mehringer hails from Jasper, Indiana. He graduated in the spring of 2010 from Franklin College with a Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training. Luke completed his Master's Degree in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Biomechanics from Auburn University in May of 2012. Mehringer previously worked as graduate assistant at Auburn University with the Cross Country team and women's Softball team.

During his time at Franklin College, Mehringer was a very valuable member of the starting pitching rotation for the Franklin College Baseball program for four seasons. He was awarded with the All-HCAC First Team in 2009 & led the team in strikeouts.

Mehringer is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association. He also holds memberships with the Southeast Athletic Trainers' Association, and the Alabama Athletic Trainers' Association.
