Education: Maas graduated from the University of North Alabama with a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice with a minor in Spanish in 2008. SHe went on to graduate from Florida Coastal School of Law, Juris Doctorate and Sports Law Certificate in May of 2011.
Job Responsibilities: Mass operates as lead academic counselor for approximately 80 student-athletes in Auburn gymnastics, soccer, and softball programs. She monitors and supervises day-to-day academic performance of student-athletes to ensure satisfactory academic progress, progress toward degree, and degree completion through collaborating with members of the Auburn gymnastics, soccer, and softball program staff, including head coaches, assistant coaches, director of operations, and trainers to provide an excellent, holistic student-athlete experience.
Past Experience: Kristin Maas joined the SASS staff in August 2015 as an Academic Counselor. She received her Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from University of North Alabama. In 2011, she earned her Juris Doctorate and Sports Law Certificate from Florida Coastal School of Law. Prior to joining the SASS staff, she was the Assistant Registrar for Athletic Eligibility at the University of Central Florida and the Athletic Certification Officer and Transcript Evaluator at Auburn University. Kristin was a student-athlete on the Women's Softball team at University of North Alabama from 2004-2007, earning 1st Team Gulf South Conference, 1st Team All-Academic Gulf South Conference, and NCAA Regional Tournament Team titles. Kristin is a current member of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics and Alabama State Bar Association.
Personal: Mass is the daughter of Duke and Cheryl Mass and has a brother named Erik. She also serves SASS as the Liaison to Office of International Programs and the University Undergraduate Advising Committee (UUAC) representative for SASS.
