20 Auburn Student-Athletes Graduate In 2008 Fall Term
Dec. 19, 2008 AUBURN - A total of 20 Auburn student-athletes graduated as part of the Auburn University Fall 2008 graduating class on Friday. The graduates represent 10 of Auburn's sport programs, including seven from football, three each from gymnastics and swimming and diving and one each from baseball, women's basketball, equestrian, soccer, women's tennis, men's track and volleyball. "It's always exciting to witness our student-athletes reap the rewards of their hard work in the classroom and become graduates," Cathie Helmbold, Assistant Athletic Director for Student Athlete Support Services said. "We're very excited for their accomplishment and look forward to each applying their degrees in their future career paths. The 20 graduates have been leaders not only on the playing fields, but in the classroom and in the community. We wish them nothing but the best in their future endeavors." Among the 20 graduates include two NCAA Champions, four All-Americans that earned 38 All-America honors, seven All-SEC performers, four SEC Champions, two Academic All-Americans, one SEC Scholar Athlete of the Year and seven Academic All-SEC recipients. The graduates collectively hail from seven states and two countries.
