Auburn and Songwhale Partner to Expand Distribution of Mobile Enterntaiment Media
Sept. 13, 2010 AUBURN, Ala. - Auburn University announced Monday a partnership with Songwhale, an interactive media company that enables schools to reach their fans across multiple touch points. There is no subscription or login requirement to access the Auburn content available through Songwhale. Text TIGERS to 94253 and you can sign up to receive score updates, Tiger Alerts about your favorite Auburn team, presented by Verizon Wireless, or prize giveaways, all via your mobile phone. There are no unwanted subscriptions, the service is free, and you can opt-out at any time. Standard data and message rates apply. "We are excited to offer our fans mobile score updates, Tiger Alerts and more through this new platform," said Scott Carr, Senior Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs. "This is a great complement to our recently released smart phone app, our social networking efforts and our redesigned website, auburntigers.com. We are offering more digital content in more ways than we ever have before, and this is yet another step forward in that effort." Auburn Athletics will be able to provide its fan base with a more integrated and enhanced fan experience by tapping into the growing mobile medium. Auburn students and fans can text in to sign up for exclusive updates and alerts about the team. They receive these messages directly to their phones whenever there is something new and exciting happening with the Tigers. In addition to the alerts platform, fans will be able to participate in sponsor related promotions and receive exclusive, free Auburn content on their cell phones. Fans can text in and receive a link to download free ringtones and wallpapers directly to their cell phones free of charge, by texting Auburn Stuff to 94253. Fans can pick and choose what images and ringtones they would like and download them instantly. The service is a great way for fans to show their spirit outside of games.
