Dear Auburn Family,
It’s finally here.
Game day. The day we all begin thinking about soon after football season ends every year.
Just like you, my mind turns to game day not long after our last game of the season.
Those of us who work in Auburn Athletics may be thinking about it for different reasons, though. We think about it year-round because our goal is continuous improvement for the gameday experience for our fans.
We can all agree Auburn has one of the best gameday experiences in the nation, but we can always get better. Each and every year, we listen to you and we do our best to address your concerns and suggestions.
We roll out new ideas to build on the legacy we already have to get better every year. This year is no exception. You can read about 25 gameday improvements here, but I want to mention just a few.
Additional free water refilling stations have been added in the stadium.
The price of bottled water has been dropped from $4 to $2.
The price of hotdogs has been dropped from $4 to $3.
Mobile ticket delivery: You can now get your ticket delivered to your smartphone and get it scanned at the gate.
The Auburn gameday mobile app will now have free audio streaming of the Auburn IMG broadcast.
The JHS cellular DAS was upgraded, which we hope will help with cellular capacity.
Young alumni program: Special discounted TUF for young alumni (0-3 years removed from Auburn) along with season ticket purchase. Young alumni will sit together in Section 37. Program sold out for 2014.
Bar codes added to faculty/staff tickets to allow faculty/staff to enter any public gate, making previously assigned gates open to all fans.
Gate 19 will be an exclusive gate for scholarship donors. This gate was not previously open for access.
There will be bathroom attendants located in all restrooms located in the lower levels. With the addition of these attendants, the custodial resources that were split between the lower and upper level in past years will now be able to focus on the upper level restrooms.
Restrooms in the lower level will have additional fans and audio for access to the Auburn IMG Network broadcasts. The upper level will have fans in all restrooms and are scheduled to have the audio broadcast available for the 2015 season.
Several years ago, we expanded the "gameday experience" to the "gameday weekend experience," adding events to enhance the entire weekend for our fans. Below are several events you can enjoy, including a new Thursday night event called "The Huddle."
In an ongoing effort to enhance the Gameday Weekend Experience, Auburn Athletics has created The Huddle, an interactive event on Thursday, Aug. 28 and Sept. 4 at 7 p.m. at Ariccia at the Auburn Hotel & Conference Center.
At the first Huddle event, I look forward to joining Gabe Gross, former Auburn quarterback and Major League Baseball player, Coach Malzahn, and other special guests for an hour long discussion on Auburn and collegiate athletics. Additional guests will be announced later this week. The event will be available via live streaming on AuburnTigers.com for any fans unable to attend on site at Ariccia.
