Bramblett Receives SportsCaster Of The Year Award
April 30, 2007 Auburn, Ala. - Rod Bramblett, who handles the play-by-play duties of Auburn football, men's basketball and baseball on the Auburn ISP Sports Network, has been named the 2007 Sportscaster of the Year in the state of Alabama by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association. Bramblett will receive the award Monday, April 30 in Salisbury, N.C. at the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association annual awards dinner. "This is especially meaningful because it is based on a vote of your peers." Bramblett said. "It is also an indication of what a great team we have at the Auburn ISP Sports Network and the Auburn University Athletic Department. It's a reflection of everyone's effort that goes into the broadcasts, from those who work on the broadcasts on a day-to-day basis, to the coaches we work with." A Valley, Ala., native, Bramblett became Auburn's lead announcer for football and men's basketball in 2003. Bramblett, 41, has served as the voice of Auburn baseball since 1993. This is the first time he has received this Sportscaster of the Year honor. Bramblett is one of five members of the ISP Network who received statewide recognition from the NSSA. Stan Cotten (Wake Forest University / state of North Carolina), Steve Cotton (Marshall University / West Virginia), Mike Morgan (University of South Carolina / South Carolina) and Bill Roth (Virginia Tech / Virginia) were honored in their respective states as well. "We are thrilled to have a member of our broadcast team recognized with this distinction," said Jon Cole, Vice President/General Manager of Auburn ISP Sports Network. "Rod has done an outstanding job in his relatively short tenure as the Voice of the Tigers and I think this award ratifies what most Auburn fans already know, and that is Rod is professional, talented and certainly has a passion for his craft." Bramblett is a 1988 graduate of Auburn. |
