36 Auburn Student-Athletes Named to SEC Winter Academic Honor Roll
April 9, 2008 Birmingham, Ala. - A total of 36 Auburn student-athletes have been named to the 2007-08 Southeastern Conference Winter Academic Honor Roll, it was announced Wednesday by SEC Commissioner Mike Slive. The 2007-08 SEC Winter Academic Honor Roll is based on grades from the 2007 Spring, Summer and Fall terms. Men's swimming and diving had the most athletes earn SEC Academic Honor Roll distinctions with 13. They include Jordan Anderson (Undeclared Sciences & Mathematics), Cesar Cielo (Criminology), William Dove (Pre-Graphic Design), Caleb Dunnichay (Undeclared Sciences & Mathematics), Jonathan Hiett (Nutrition & Food Science), John Long (Undeclared Liberal Arts), Kelly Marx (Undeclared Sciences & Mathematics), Daniel Mazzaferro (Pre-Medicine), Tyler McGill (Pre-Business), Scott Morgan (Building Science), Marshel Renz (Chemistry), John Snyder (Civil Engineering) and Pascal Wollach (Biomedical Sciences). Women's swimming and diving was honored with 11 selections. Those selected from the team are Margaret Bird (Finance), Katherine Caldwell (Wildlife), Kara Denby (Zoology), Alana Dillette (Hotel & Restaurant Management), Emile Ewing (Wireless Engineering & Hardware), Chelsea Haser (International Business), Kristen Hastrup (Biomedical Sciences), Abigail MacGregor (Psychology), Melissa Marik (Psychology), Julianne McLane (Pre-Nursing Science) and Ava Ohlgren (Exercise Science). Gymnastics had eight selections to the academic honor roll. Those include Julie Dwyer (Accounting), Kayla Gies (Biomedical Sciences), Aimee Goheen (Adult Education), A.J. Mills (Marketing), Karmen Pinckney (Elementary Education), Lindsey Puckett (Business Administration), Claire Seiffert (Communication) and Kristina Voss (Undeclared Sciences & Mathematics). Both men's and women's basketball had two athletes honored by the SEC. Men's basketball players selected include Judson Brooks (Pre-Business) and Andrew Smith (Biomedical Sciences). Women's basketball players named to the list are Alexis Ogubie (Early Childhood Education) and Juanitta Wallace (Management Information Systems). |
