How are these rankings compiled?
Using the links above, we visit each of the official Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Vine and Pinterest platforms on the date indicated in the top right of this page to record the numbers.

How is Facebook engagement calculated?
Facebook provides a "Total Likes" number and a "Talking About" number at the top of all pages. Divide "Talking About" by "Total Likes" for percent engaged.

Where are our other pages/feeds/channels?
We limit our rankings to official pages, feeds and channels that represent the overall programs and football teams for FBS schools. We visit the official athletics sites of each school to ensure we're using their official social media platforms.

Our page/feed/channel qualifies for the Top 25 but is not listed.
Please tweet @JasonRMatheson with additions or corrections. Once verified, the rankings will be updated immediately.

Are there other sources for rankings?
Our colleagues at Tennessee keep an extensive list of Twitter rankings by individual college sport here. Also view the Top 25 Twitter feeds in Division II here courtesy Frank Keenan. Coyle Media provides a myriad of rankings here. Of interest is the Facebook "Talking About" number which reflects engagement.
