    Mission

It is the mission of the Office of Student-Athlete Support Services (SASS) of the Auburn University Athletics Department to promote, assist, and provide counsel to all student-athletes, whether scholarship or walk-on, in the areas of academics, eligibility, admissions, financial aid, career counseling, and healthy behaviors.

Its primary, constant goal is to develop graduates from Auburn University who have contributed in the arenas of athletic competition during their tenures of education, who are articulate, confident, poised, positive, cooperative, and mature decision-makers, and who are outstanding examples of Auburn University's commitment to the development of the whole individual.

    About SASS

Student-Athlete Support Services (SASS) professionals provide direction for student-athletes via academic counseling in conjunction with advisors from the respective Dean's offices at Auburn University. Academic support services such as tutoring and supervised study table are also provided, as well as career planning, monitoring of eligibility status, and a host of other guidance and advisory services.

Each student-athlete is assigned to a Student-Athlete Support Services Counselor for their entire tenure of study at Auburn University. The SASS Counselors also help familiarize student-athletes with Auburn University, Southeastern Conference, and NCAA policies and procedures.

The SASS Eligibility Coordinator is charged with keeping records of progress toward graduation, as well as keeping abreast of SEC, NCAA, and Auburn University criteria for academic eligibility.
